First of all, I would like to mention that when we refer to “Ornamental Grasses”, we are speaking of both “true” grasses and “grass-like-plants” (sedges, rushes, etc.). If you are looking to become an elite “true grass” collector, just ask, we can tell you which are true and which are described as; sedges, rushes (wood and water), cat’s tails or even some close Lily relatives (notably the famous Black Grass, Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’).
This collection consists of over 150 different varieties, over 100 of which are “true” grasses; the rest being grass-like plants and often classified as grasses, including:
Sedges
Rushes
Cats Tail
Acorus
Ophiopogon
Within this collection can be found some of the old favourites (Stipa gigantea - Golden Oat Grass), as well as the lesser known varieties (Helictotrichon sempervirens - Blue Oat Grass, Panicum virgatum cvs, Carex conica ‘Snowline’) and also some of the rarer varieties (Bouteloua gracilis - Mosquitoe (pictured below) Grass, Cyperus longus - Galingale).
